If you don't do as I say you will burn in Hell for eternity. It's less immediately destructive than blowing up a building. But it utilizes the power of terror nonetheless.

What was the Spanish Inquisition if not an act of terror, John?
What is the notion of eternal damnation, if not an act of psychological terror?

At this point, not all of the security in place is truly intended to keep us safe. but rather to keep us afraid.
Case in point. If it has been proven that the "terrorists" could not have created any kind of explosives utilizing the items that have since been banned....why are the said items still banned?
Why are they still engaged in this foolish war on fluids?

Is it perhaps finally time we acknowledged that those lunatics who flew those planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were the luckiest little terrorists in the world, and that this mob of disorganized, uneducated, religious fanatics shaking their sabers at us are not supervillains to rival Doctor Doom?

Or that the security was just that tough to get past.
Yeah, I don't believe that either......

...It was an event that occured over five hundred years ago. I don't know of anyone who was there, do you? Shall we look at every religion [and every culture, and every country, etc] and point out everything that they've done wrong? My goodness, what a long list we'd have.

Any nouveau Christian who supports the way things are today are siding with terrorists. I have no problem with the person reading the bible (a book written and rewritten by men) and living his/her life in a kind, compassionate way - but supporting hate, violence, racism, war, torture, etc., etc. now and throughout history is a pretty pathetic cloth to wrap yourself in.
I also don't especially like this pope - Hitler youth pope seeing over molesting priests? Lovely.

'Hitler youth Pope'...who condemned Nazism while telling about his handicapped cousin who was 'taken away' and murdered by Nazis...
'...seeing over molesting priests'...finally acknowledged that shameful episode by meeting with and apologizing to victims of sexual abuse by some of those priests.
supporting hate, violence, racism, war, torture, etc., etc. now and throughout history is a pretty pathetic cloth to wrap yourself in.
OK, so any country who used to support Hitler is still guilty today, because nobody ever really changes?
Here's a news flash: Every nation that ever existed has done something screwed up at least once in history.
You must tell us about the wonderful life you live in your own little perfect world.

This thread is about the pope, not every nation in history. Also, the Christian religion is not a nation, though they treat the Vatican like one, and the Pope like a head of state.
Sorry, I think there's a lot of villainy in the Christian faith, my two cents. If you disagee, that's cool, not telling you to have the same opinion as me.
