I'm really digging FX and Assignment Earth, but, lord a'mighty, these commissions make me miss your Marvel and DC work more and more.  This piece is absoultely stunning.

Man, I really wish you'd stayed on HULK so we could've seen more of your
Abomination.

Is that a euphemism?

Maybe he's saying my Hulk is Gay -- tho what self-respecting Gay man
would wear purple with green?

Gorgeous.

Looks like Dr. Banner's schedule will be clear for the near future...

Perfect Hulk face!

••

Y'know, it's another indication, I think, of how comics have changed -- and
not for the better -- that when I first took on the Hulk's own title, I came up
with a story arc that would allow me to morph him into the Kirby-style form
I preferred. Today, artists come on books and immediately change the
characters to look however they feel like drawing them. The notion of
staying "on model" has largely gone the way of the Dodo.

One heck of an image... and embodies what I like best about your commissions, JB. Each one tells a story, even if it's a single figure. This looks like the worst day Hulk's enemies have had in a long, long time-- and about the most savage the Hulk could ever get.

Not sure if this is my "favorite" among your commission pieces-- I still rank Cyclops, Spider-Man and some of the Alpha Flight gang ahead of Hulk in character preference-- but it's easily a top five drawing!

JB,

If it wouldn't lead to another "Bad Byrne" story, I'd be tempted to ask you when you think you finally surpassed Kirby in drawing the HULK!!  (smile)

This is an AWESOME commission.  I am always, always, always in AWE of your HULK.  I was just saying in another thread how I still mourn you not having stayed on INCREDIBLE HULK more than a few issues.

When I first saw this commission, I thought about how much I hate that I am not able to draw as well as you.
