With all due respect to John Buscema and John Romita Jr., I don't think anyone comes close to JB in regards to drawing the perfect Wolverine.

I'd put Paul Smith in that short list, too.

In HEROES FOR HOPE, Frank Miller teamed-up with Bill Sienkiewicz for the Wolverine segment.  For several years, that was my ideal Wolverine rendition.

I really love that Wolverine, one of my favorite depictions of the character.
(And I love that particular story arc, which I read for the first time last year.)

Well, Charles, we all know the problem with that thought -- "my" Wolverine
isn't being published, and has not been for years, even decades!
***********************************
There's a Wolverine in the Savage Land right now that's *probably* a Skrull, but could possibly be the real Wolverine, having been abducted way back when he was wearing his costume from his first appearance in the Incredible Hulk.

It would be cool to see a JB series starring that character.

••

Does this mean the Wolverine I drew in UNCANNY was not the real one?

Quite possibly. It would, I suppose, also mean that all the garbage heaped on him ( his origin and whatnot) didn't happen to him. Kinda bittersweet.
