Talk about cleaning your pipes... they'd be unusual companion pieces.

Very nice! Was the inking pen starting to run low when spotting blacks on his legs, or is it just my monitor? Looks a bit more solid and darker on the upper half than the lower. Beautiful pose too.

Gotta go with the crowd on this one, JB. I always thought you did one of the best Guy Gardeners. Can't think of anyone who does him better.
Also, I'm surprised that "cleaning the pipes" is how you refer to a pinup like this. I mean, when I've had time off or not done any art in a while, that seems like the time pipes would need cleaning. Does working on a giant commission get you bogged down or muddled?

JB, the only time I ever enjoyed Guy as a "good guy" (ahem) was under your pencil in Legends.

As Guy would say, "The one, true Green Lantern".
Fun stuff.

You are being a trifled too literal! As I have mentioned many a time
before, I am a workaholic, so my idea of "time off" is to do different
work. Thus, after a period of doing nothing but monthly comics, for
instance, I like to "clean the pipes" with a spate of commissions. Likewise
after a great big one, that takes several days, like the Kree/Skrull War
piece, I like to "clean the pipes" with a few "quickies".

So I turn on my computer and check my email. I have one waiting from Ari and another from Joe Hollen. Ari's was telling me that I have to check out the forum immediately and Joe telling me that my commission had been posted. I have to say I am blown away by the results. I have splash pages of Hal and John Stewart by JB but I still wanted a Green Lantern commission from him. I loved how JB drew Guy in the Legends mini-series and wanted to see him work on him one more time. I've always found Guy to be the hero you love to hate and John has captured his cocky look perfectly in this piece.
Thanks for doing this piece for me John. I couldn't be happier.
