Fantastic! One of my current favorite characters. At last years WWC I hunted down every comic that Deathlok appeared in. This year I started a new collection of commissions with with Deathlok. A JB Deathlok and a Rich Buckler one are on my wish list. One day they will be mine. ;)

My second story drawn by JB was the MARVEL TWO IN ONE featuring Deathlok (Project Pegasus saga), who in Italy was re-named "Cybernus". I hope ESSENTIAL MTO #3 is released soon, I want to get the whole storyline since I was 5 years old...

>John Byrne makes ANY character he draws his own. Great depiction of Deathlok (and nice rubble too)
The way I tend to think of it is, that JB's versions of all characters ARE the definitive versions especially Marvel guys. Great character, Great piece.

Another winner! Clint, sincere congrats. You are certainly getting a fine and well themed collection together here.
JB, another superb job! I've read next to nothing with the character (believe there was one arc published in a Swedish Marvel comic called Mega Marvel, where each 150 pages issue was devoted to a different Marvel character, but nothing more than that and I can't really remmeber much either), but once again you hit a nerve with your drawing, that makes me WANT to read something with the character (much like the recent T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agent piece). This is definitely how to sell characters and concepts! Cover thinking for real. (And while only using one single character, I'd like to note!)

JB, Deathlok is my all-time favorite character so I wish to thank you and the idividual who commissioned you!! If only I could afford to have you commision such a drawing, this is very close to what I would have chosen!
A truly awesome rendering of the character and I should know one when I see it. I have been a huge fan of the Luther Manning version of the character since I first picked up a copy of Astonishing Tales so long ago. All other versions of the character since, mainly the Michael Collins version, really got the characterization of deathlok all wrong. I still look forward to seeing the old Deathlok hopefully popping up in the Marvel U sometime soon.

Nice pic -- have to admit Deathlok isn't a character I have any affinity for (I think the only comic I ever saw him in is OHOTMU!). It's the background that I dig in this one, particularly that smoke on the right. Pure Byrne.

The way I render smoke is a synthesis of Kubert and Kirby. If that adds up
to "pure Byrne", I'm a happy camper!

Way to go man. Your commisisons have been fabulous. Characters I'd never thought I'd ever see get to tackle in commissions

Aric, the next one, to my knowledge JB has never worked on. It's not a monster, it's THE monster.
