That FF splash is one of my earliest experiments with making the hair, not
the skull, responsible for the "flat head". Still some indication that his skull
is oddly formed, tho. The full concept had not clicked yet.

That´s the closest it got to Bill Everett, IMO.  My favorite Namor rendition.  I spent months enthralled, copying it.

John Buscema drew him with a more normal shaped head also

Gerry: yep. And the Marie Severin/Gene Colan version isn't flat either.

I think that that the Namor pose in the gallery is a great example of what John was talking about.  Really looks like Namor has just brushed his hair back after coming out of the water.

As an aside, John seems to draw Namor as a much better looking guy these days.  His old namor wasn't classically handsome.
