I loved the line work in this issue. It's almost like JB was trying to do the
duo-shade with his pen. Beautiful.

••

That is DuoShade, Brian! There were several different patterns, and this
was one of the more "organic" ones.

Incidentally, this issue had a brief moment of fame when Paula Poundstone
actually mentioned in during an appearance on THE TONIGHT SHOW.

I own the original art for that last page. I love the line work in that fourth panel - I've looked at it a million times.

JB, Was that a "dream" studio you were drawing yourself in, there? That's one large drawing table!

JB, did you really mispace the issue and come up a page short as the last page would indicate?

That's a great in-joke.

Not like the current crop of writers who do that kind of stuff.

In-jokes done right!

Is that like Photoshop?

JB--do you happen to remember what the context was of the Poundstone quote?

The inking in this issue gives me an Al Gordon vibe.

Was that an intentional variation on the Doc Samson outfit by any slim chance?

I really miss the humor; grim gritty and gruesome really gets old...
