Ryan was a close second for both of our boys (Hunter and Zachary). Had either been a girl, she would have been Abigail Rose.

I love the Kirby suggestion, that would be a cool name even without knowing who the kid was named after.
I have always loved the name Annie for a girl.
What an exciting thing to pick out someone's name, good luck finding just the right one. But wait to make the final decision until you see the baby. When my mom was pregnant with me, the whole time I was going to be Kimberly and then when I was born, my mom looked at me and said "she doesn't look like a Kim" the nurse suggested Jodi and my mom said "that's it, she looks like a Jodi". I like Jodi better than Kim, so I am very happy with her choice.
Edited to add, I didn't see Tim's suggestion, OMG I love it!!!!!

I always think names should have some meaning behind them. It seems like most people randomly name their kids these days or just try to pick something weird or use a non-traditional spelling to make their kids unique (re: strange and annoying). It's seems weird to me when I enthusiastically ask, "Oh wow! Why'd you pick that name?" And the parents just sort of shrug their shoulders. For example, my first and middle name are both traditional family names. One goes with my mom's side of the family and the other with my dad's side. I like that.

Well, Peyton, of course. It works for both sexes and guarantees that your child will be extremely good-looking and a genius.

Choose an unusual name by all means but please spell it correctly. There is nothing more annoying than having a child come to me and say that I have spelt their name incorrectly and then spell it in the most crazy way possible.

I like the idea of giving names that don't belong to relatives, including parents, because it gives no implication of having a legacy to live up to or anything like that. I'm also in favor of twins having names that are very different from each other. If we had a daughter we were pretty much decided on "Sabrina Amberle Myers". Since we had twins we decided to name one Sabrina and the other Amberle. Didn't seem right to have one of them keep the "first choice name" and the other get a secondary pick.
