I'm getting a Don Heck vibe from this.

Which is a good thing!

Spectacular!  This is definitely one of those special pieces we'll be talking about in the "Best of 2010" thread that will pop up in about 12 months from now!

Mr. Byrne, Could it be possible to find in the Galeries the pencil version of this commission in the same great quality as the inks? Could Dan upload it?

Please.

Thank you for showing us the process, whatever the answer be.

Pleeeeease.

That would require scanning, rather than simply photographing, the pencils. And with a large piece like this, that means a LOT of extra work for me, as the piece has to be scanned in four parts, then assembled (with correction for the individual scans not quite lining up).

If you're interest in observing the PROCESS, I suggest you take a look HERE!

That's a very nice piece. Congrats to the owner.

JB: I noticed a change in Quicksilver's head angle between posted pencils and inked final. Is that something you re-pencilled or did in the inking stage?

I suposed it, it´s logical, but... I had to ask... the pencils were amazing. (uncrossing my fingers, SNIFF, SNIFF!)

Thanks for your answer, Mr. Byrne.

Don Heck's original wasn't bad, either, but HOW THE HECK (NPI*) DO YOU DO IT, JB?  I mean, JESUS, MARY, AND JOSEPH!

That is to say, I'm suitably impressed.

*No Pun Intended

Yes, there is definitely a Don Heck vibe to some of the inks.

Just curious JB - did you have the Executioner wear his helmet by request, or was it just because it looks so damn cool?

Repencilled. I decided with his head turned as I originally drew it it looked like he was attacking Captain America.
