No idea who inked it. There is a certain look to it that has that "Hey, my pal over here wants to try his hand at inking…" vibe.

Your original cover is vastly superior. Didn't Shooter once
tell you that you weren't the best cover guy? (What a joke,
by the way.) Could this be because Shooter kept sabotaging
your superior first efforts? ;)

I got that, too. I certainly don't recognize the inking style, and I am pretty familiar with Marvel and DC inkers of that period. The inking looks below professional level. If someone tried their hand at inking on an original work like that, they need to be bopped on the head... hard.
