Agreed, Nathan. I think the second one works better.

Is Darkseid the only villain in that group?

"I'd come up with an "internal" reason for them to go back to the original uniforms (seeds were already sown in the issues that came out). Plus, I had figured out a way for the Beast to return for a while, after he turned gray and furry, and still look like his old self."

****

Care to elaborate, JB?

I completely forgot about this! JB's plot breakdown (issue by issue) written during his X-Men run...

Leigh: Putting aside the cost factor (which is considerable to me) I am now drooling at the thought of other similar ideas...an Alpha Flight version based on the 28 issues...a Next Men version...etc...

----------

My first thought was to get an Alpha Flight poster. I even made a list of all of the characters that appeared in JB's run. I love JB's Alpha Flight. I mean, I REALLY LOVE IT.......but for whatever reason, the character list didn't speak to me. I can't explain why. I wasn't excited enough. About 4 months later I started reading JB's X-Men run again and it hit me -- THIS IS THE POSTER!!!

I think I made the right choice :)

If I had "Greno" money...I'd make X-men 146 and 147 happen!

I'd probably have passed on that one, Nathan!

"I kind of like the idea of assembling a composite of
different characters by different artists."

**

Reminds me of the Legion anniversary cover from the 80s. I
thought that was a spectacularly done "jam" cover.

Hey, Nathan is paying for this with a dollar down, and a dollar a week!

Things didn't quite work out like that, did they?

That list is something current writers might want to study, tho. Notice how many stories happen in the span of a single year. "Decompression" was not something comicbook writers or READERS were interested in!
