Clock King! Nice. He's shown up recently in the "Brave and the Bold" animated series. So, strangely, your average child is more likely to know this character than many people on this forum.

No offense to the character or his creators, but, if you strip away the boots, gloves, trunks, belt, cape, and mask, you're pretty much left with something that looks very much like a toddler's sleepy-time PJs! All kidding aside, great drawing, JB! When it comes to depicting expressive hands, you're right up there with giants like Gil Kane, Carmine Infantino, the Buscema brothers, and (pause for genuflection - hard to do with MY knees) Neal Adams.

Looks great, JB. Just wondering how much of a pain it is to add the arms to each of those clocks on his costume. :) Congrats to whomever is getting this. Very nice.

Fun! I have a weird fondness for the Clock King based on that Justice League Antarctica annual they did back in the wacky JLI days. Had Big Sir and Cluemaster and some other z-list villains on the team, and I guess the idea was they were trying their hands at heroics. I liked JLI in my teens but can't really go back to it as an adult. What stood out for me on the annual was really Mike McKone's artwork. I loved how he drew all the villains and I was fascinated with his detail - even on the Clock King.

I really enjoyed that take on him, especially the weird second appearance with the warped time. It was almost like a stealth Flash episode for the way it portrayed time slowing down and Batman at one point moving "super-fast" just because everything else was so slow. Thinking about Batman the Animated series makes me wonder... Has anyone ever commissioned JB to do any "animated series style" artowrk? I remember a kick-ass Joker story he did in one of the Annuals for the comic and I believe he was a fan of the show. I'd love to see more characters rendered in that style.

Clock King always looked like a frogman to me. (Or is scubadiver the PC term?))

This is one of those pieces where there just has to be a story behind it and I really wish the commissioner would chime in and fill us in. Why Clock King?!?!?! I want to hear it!

But I love it
