"Think the closest I got was this version of Union Jack"

And just look at Captain Ultra---I know Kirby meant to create a gonzo costume for that guy, but I actually like it! Kirby rocks.

That´s a neat costume, but the REAL Union Jack is much cooler. They should give that to a different guy.

Was he the guy who fought Baron Blood alongside Captain America? Nah, I meant to say that that costume should go to some other Brit hero, and keep the Union Jack, whoever´s behind the mask, in the original threads.

I want to read this story. I want to know who're they're about to butt heads with. I would buy a comic with that cover! By which I mean to say: Beautiful work, JB! And congrats, Ewan! (Two fine pieces you have there. May there be many more.)
JB wrote: "I so often see 'old school' used as a pejorative by the Kno-Nothings, that I sort of twitch even when I see it used as a compliment!"
I'm thinking the Kno-Nothings have a severe case of sour grapes. I mean, there's certainly a fair share of good new school stuff around... But old school is old school, and for a reason. It's classic!
Leigh wrote: "As far as I'm concerned the true look of every Marvel character is how JB draws them. I can't help it, it's just wired into my brain like that."
That sounds about right for me too.
And apropos of JB and Captain Britain (in later attire)... I just suddenly felt a yearning to see JB draw Excalibur (i.e. the "original" or at least early days, Alan Davis drawn version of the team).
