I have no idea who these Liefeld people are. I'd say Shatterstar is the tall guy on the left. No idea why though.

Perfect.... just perfect. I usually try to be as objective as I can, and reserved in my praise, but this really is genuinely brilliant.

I've been mulling over a Batman commission for the longest time, and something like this pushes me a long way towards sending an email to Master Warden.

Your art here is so crisp, so pretty. Perfect.

Cool!!
I want to see JB doing Batman up against his rogues' gallery on a regular basis. Not likely to happen, but it would make me pick up a Batman book again in a hurry.

Great commission! Love...  well, all of it.

I say it doesn't count as a Batman appearance, shadow or no. That's if I actually get a vote in this benevolent dictatorship.

And I know which one is Shatterstar. I've read some things featuring him. And I can't unsee them. Wish I could.

I would have picked the guy with the head shaped kinda like a star!

If I didn't already know which one he was, so would I!

Oh, and lest I forget... Excellent picture, JB! Those expressions are great!

Fortunately for me, I have NO IDEA who those characters are that JB posted.  Not a clue.

As for the commission: JEALOUS!

I believe this is mine, and I LOVE it!

BATMAN 3-D may be my favorite single JB issue & this was my attempt at getting a "lost scene" from that.

LOVE IT!

Very appealing take on Batman's rogues gallery. It's nice to see these characters as, well, people for a change.

As for Ian's question as to who would name themselves Shatterstar, these two characters would... the one JB posted and this Perez-designed fellow from his days on the Inhumans...

That's something about the Liefeld character I dont like. It's not just a lousy name, it's an unoriginal lousy name he's borrowed from an unrelated Kree assassin, possibly as a means of keeping the name "alive" and legally defensible.

What a great idea for a commission.

The looks on the characters are priceless. I would love to see JB on a monthly Batman (I know I sound like a broken record but...).

Wow JB! I know you always draw characters on model, but what
astounds me is how many characters that you define the model with
your rendering style. All three of these fit that.

BTW, like a couple of others have mentioned, the bat silhouette in the
hat and monocle are a great touch.

This is simply an excellent piece.  I honestly think the faces in this one (among other things) really showcases an evolution in JB's artistic prowess.  The John Byrne* who worked on X-MEN thirty years ago could not have done something like this.

*As much as I loved the guy!
