That's a good question, Charles, I wish I knew as well. As for the She-Hulk/ Hercules romance, I wish Mr. Byrne explored it, it seem very interesting. I have to say, Mr. Byrne, your Captain America is properly proportioned. He's not too musclebound, and not too small. I like your consistancy with the character. Once again a nice piece for buyer.

I like the inking on this piece -- there a nice variation of line weight. Fun piece.

Know absolutely nothing about Diamondback (do/did they have/had a relationship?), but this is a great illo. Wonderful depth.

IIRC, Andrew, Cap faced Diamondback in battle when she was a member of the Serpent Society, and he turned her from the dark side. After that, she became his girlfriend and occasional partner. I believe she ended up going the mercenary route, and they broke up. Last I checked, she was partnered with a couple of other ex-Serpent members in a mercenary team. They're kind of like Catwoman, working both sides of the line.

I'm in the same boat. I thought she was a villain?
Also: AWESOME drawing JB! Cap's head is really solid!

Hm. I just don't see Captain America dating someone like that... but I didn't read those stories. Maybe they work...?

Did it work? At the time: yes. In retrospect: no. It was fun to read stories where Cap had a super-powered girlfriend, even if she came from the wrong side of the tracks, but in hindsight there were probably better options. Maybe Mark G. had a reason for selecting Diamondback, but I sure can't remember what it was. We did get a lot of cool Serpent Society stories out of it. (And maybe that was the reason?)

I love that sexy commission. Rachel's face is very well done. Gorgeous smile too. Reminds me of all the fun days I had reading the Gruenwald Cap comics. My favorite arc being Streets of Poison (part of Rachel's hair was shaved at the time) and the Trial of Diamondback by Ron Lim.
