Diamondback and Captain America work just fine...because I say so. 

But seriously, I enjoyed Mark G's run on Captain America, but as some have pointed out...it was hit and miss.  And the misses could be pretty off the mark.  Diamondback's role in the book (which started off very well) suffered from this towards the end of the run. 

Be that as it may, I have a lot of fond memories of fun superhero stories from Mark's (very long) tenure on the book.  And in my perfect Marvel Universe, Diamondback is still teaming up with (and romancing) Cap. 

And regardless of all that...JB did just a fantastic job on the commission and I am very happy.

For the 1,847th time, Hawkeye was not a villain.

I'm currently reading for the 1st time and / or re-reading some Cap issues from Gruenwald's run (caught up half of his run recently). I pretty much like it but must say I much preferred De Matteis' run on the title. I liked Stern & Byrne's too and lamented it ran too short a while.

My favorite artists associated with Gru were Kieron Dwyer and Ron Lim (Bulanadi's inks were great).

I wonder if JB met Kieron at that time or if he knew him from before.
