I LOVE Electro! He's been my favourite Spider-Man villain since the 60s cartoon. This rendition is, well, Amazing. Congrats Paul!

The Big Man was a pretty cool villian even though he only appeared in one comic. JB nails him perfectly.

The thought never occurred to me before, but it strikes me that in some ways, the Big Man, though a villain, was a visual precursor of Ditko's Mr. A.

The original Big Man appeared only once (sort of), but his daughter took over the identity in a mid-70s Marvel Team-Up story.

For the life of me, I cannot fathom why the current Marvel creative and editorial staff had to do away with Electro's classic costume. It wasn't silly to me at all -- it actually signified the power that this guy had. It must be the moonlighting Hollywood screenwriter influence doing that. The Big Man's name and appearance during the Lee-Ditko years was right on the tip of my fingers at this post. I wasn't sure what the character was called. When you look back at the stories involving the villain, it makes you wish that that sort of storytelling were back in force. I don't think that more than six issues passed before we saw the whole thing resolved.

It's not Chapter One, but there's an early Amazon listing for a collection of your run on Amazing Spider-Man with Howard Mackie (and the Peter Parker: Spider-Man issues drawn by John Romita Jr). Spider-Man: The Next Chapter vol 1

That's one of the coolest Electro drawings ever committed to paper.
