She-Hulk and Namor look overjoyed to be charging into battle! This forum is just about the only place left where we can see superheroes acting like it's fun to have powers.

That is awesome.  But it's also getting me in a commission ordering mood.  Darn you, JB.

Super nice. Really love the wings on Namor's ankle. Three great characters.

Gorgeous!

I am always impress, JB, by your ability to come up with different poses for the characters you have to work with.  There is so much energy in there, so much movement.

Excellent work.  Not going to pick a favorite here.  Just fun to look at.

Smiling superheroes!  A rare sight, indeed.   And this, a Marvel Team-Up cover that should've been.

Thanks!

I have often said that artistically, I am a sponge. I suck up elements of any artist I like, so my influences are many and varied. I usually note that even artists I DON'T like can be seen as influences, as I try NOT to do what they do.

This is an example of the latter. When I was a kid, there were several artists working for DC who used the same poses over and over -- so much that I was halfway convinced they were literally rubber-stamping the figures! I remember lying on the living room rug one afternoon, with a number of comics spread in front of me, all the work of one artist on a particular character, and literally using a magnifying glass to study the minute differences in poses from one story to the next! Was this how it was SUPPOSED to be done?

Then along came Marvel, and most particularly Steve Ditko, whose Spider-Man seemed never, ever to strike the same pose more than once!

Definitely felt like I was channeling Gil Kane there!

Those white boots are very Gil Kane!

edited to add -- and She-Hulk's costume as a whole here reminds me of a Gil Kane design... the V of the costume dipping across the chest, especially, following the form of the body.
