JB, I think it's harder to see the flaws in your older work that you see, because so many who have come after you have not been nearly as good as you were back then.
The pain you have seeing that drawing is not there for us because we've seen so much worse as fans of comics in general.

Well, Neal is so damn good, you can stand a few paces behind him and STILL have a huge ego!! ** I think you may have forgotten the size of Neal's EGO. Even ten paces back his ego may step on your toes. However, he is that damn good.

Speaking of Neal, someone asked me last night what was up with his sudden reappearence at Marvel and DC. I replied " Zues has wandered down off of Mt. Olympus to play with the mortals for a little while. "

I was just writing a very long-winded post about this sub-issue but without turning this into a defense of Neal, I would like to say that I've met and spoken to him several times over the years and while he can definitely be intimidating, I don't know that he's possessed of the kind of pompous arrogance that he would see himself as coming down from Mt Olympus to play with us mere mortals. Granted, there are many "Bad Neal Stories" out there and maybe I've just never seen that side of him. But I would hate for people who haven't had an opportunity to judge for themselves to walk away and state as fact the opinion that Neal is possessed of this gargantuan ego. Self-aware? Yes, definitely. Maybe I've just been lucky to have caught him on good days.

Speaking of Neal, someone asked me last night what was up with his sudden reappearence at Marvel and DC. I replied " Zues [sic] has wandered down off of Mt. Olympus to play with the mortals for a little while. I don't think Aaron was intimating that Neal Adams considers himself to be like some god on high, but instead using figurative language to express his view that the man is a superior artist.

Wallace and Eric, I got that. Although I cited that particular phrase, Aaron also stated to JB "I think you may have forgotten the size of Neal's EGO." That's what I'm specifically referring to. And again, it's not a point of contention. It's just that Neal doesn't post here for people who don't know him or have never met him to gather their own impressions.

Coming in late here --- but how did a compliment to Neal turn into a "stealth bashing"?Cut it out.

Bro, this is the ideal. This is the Mack. Were I granted the Cosmic Cube... When I close my eyes at the drawing board for inspiration...
Your pain confuses my heart.
The sash and hair are my favorite parts. She's gorgeous.
I may have mentioned that JB has ruined my perception of meeting the girl of my dreams, for when I saw this woman in the pages of TDOP (pocket sized book) I had a serious infatuation.

I think just like Hitchcock had his women wo all looked like Tippi Hedren, JB draws his women. At the beginning they looked like Jack Kirby's style for continuity but after a while JB's tall thin women with long legs showed up where they could, for example aunt p. I just write aunt p here to not spoil anything.
