Add me to the list that's really loving the shading and
texturing on Flatiron, and I'm really digging the wrinkling
of Mandarin's "M" too.

Love it and the lighting on Flatiron's armor!

Lost Generation was such a fun series.  The Log of the Black Fox would have been a treat!

Working on this piece brought an odd memory bubbling to the front of my brain.

When I created Flatiron, the whole point of the character was that he was a fat guy who wanted to be a superhero. Much like Puck and Box, he was meant to be one of my "disabled" characters who were still out there fighting the good fight.

As soon as Roger saw the character, his first comment was "We can do a subplot about him losing weight!"

But… but… but…

One of the things I have always wanted to see is a superhero who was a more "husky" fellow, and not treated like a joke. There are a lot of cops, firefighters and EMTs who could stand to lose a few (or more) pounds, but are still great at their jobs and protect and serve the public quite well. Why not some superheroes?

I think I see a little bit of a John Romita Jr vibe on Flatiron.

••

Yeah, I can see that.

And I accept the compliment!!

--------

Oddly enough, the dithering on Flatiron makes me think of Robert Crumb!

Very nicely done. Lots of texture, as usual, which makes checking the full sized scan quite a treat. Congrats Kevin and thanks for sharing, Chief.
