I think we have a new contender for commission of the year. You never cease to amaze and astound me with your work, JB.

Good call, Paul! I guess it's about that time to start a "Best of 2012" thread!

JB, are there many more in the queue you expect to get to before the end of the month?

Yup -- including another 20x30 I hope to get to before the end of this week.

Save the "Best of..." voting until January is my advice!

Another 20x30? Oh man.

This year has been great in terms of JB commissions.

Can't wait until January as it was fun last year to see everyone's thoughts on what were the best commissions of the year.

This year has been great in terms of JB commissions.

••

The recession still seems to be hitting the commission orders (good thing I have a day job!), but there does seem to be a slight up-tick in the number of LARGE pieces over the last couple of years. Mind you, strolling thru the Gallery you can see just when the economic downturn caught up with JBFers. Our own "fiscal cliff" seems to have been at the end of '08. (Or maybe, with 20 large pieces ordered, that was just a banner year!)

For me it wasn't the recession so much as the vacation for two weeks in Greece and then two weeks in Turkey that we took. We also brought the in-laws on the Turkey part, so there was my big commission I've been saving for.

I gotta admit that seeing this commission really puts the bug in me for getting my dream commission.  These big ones really are fantastic to see.

Interesting renditions on Man-Bat and Killer Croc here.  And I don't think Ivy likes the way she's being handled by her own partners in this gig ("Get that clammy paw off of me, Clayface!").

Very nicely done.  Wish we did get more JB Batman...

Really like this. Man-Bat gives off a Neal Adams vibe for me. Big fan of Batman villians especially Two Face.

Congrats to the commissioner.

This is the Batman that I grew up with and for me the only Batman. Congrat's to the lucky owner.
