Gross comment or inappropriate, at best.

Way....

---------
He didn't need to take a page from that book, he created the
"language" that book teaches.

======
Yeah, he figuratively wrote the book used by the people who literally
wrote the book.

Galactus looks fine here and his face in his helmet looks about the right size.

Over time, Kirby's characters tended to become more "human", no matter how they looked in their first appearance. Remember how the Watcher changed?

And, of course, the most dramatic example is Kurgo, Master of Planet X, who went from this…

…to this…

…over the span of a single issue!

JB, is that Galactus panel above showing the original colouring?

••

Yes indeed! I call it his "Christmas Colors". They were gone with the next issue, no explanation offered (or asked for!).

I love the original Watcher! The latter version kind of turned into a giant chubby baby in swaddling robes.

Galactus' 'eyes' are a tricky bit too.
Purple and part of the helmet is my bet.

I think you all got a little too defensive of Kirby instead of reading what i was trying to explain. I assume most of you have the book, and the page that explains that the Marvel way is to cheat on the head size to body proportion.

Unfortunately, the clumsy way in which you chose to phrase you comment was akin to the old joke about Shakespeare being a good writer, except he used too many quotes.

There will never be another like Jack Kirby the true king of American comics. Just look at the Power in this Fantastic Four cover.

Is that art from an actual cover?

No Jeffrey i don't think this one was used. And if it had it would have been for issue 64 of the Fantastic Four ( THE SENTRY SINISTER )
