I just looked into the art of Russ Manning not having remembered seeing anything done by him....cool stuff! I even found one of his pages on ebay ($20,000!)...

I discovered the original Russ Manning Magnus Robot Fighter because of the Valiant release so I owe it that much. Getting the Gold Key books cost a bit more back then due to the Valiant releases, but they were worth it. The art by Manning was great and then Valiant started to add their own concepts to the series and I dropped the new stuff all together. It was more fun for me to track down the Gold Key originals than it was to buy the Valiant new releases.
