Those of you with sharp eyes may notice that some of the characters in those ancient drawings are sporting upon their uniforms a DU monogram. They come from a science fiction strip I concocted when I was about 18 or so, title. . . DANGER UNLIMITED. The circular "Time Breaker" ship is from the same strip.Most of these drawing were done when I still didn't have a clue, of course. The inking is all Rapidograph pen, for instance. Notice the labor-intensive filling in of large black areas! No quick swipes of a brush, there! In fact, when I started at the Alberta College of Art, a few years after most of these drawings were done, I was utterly bewildered when the drawing instructor started talking about using brushes. Come on! You PAINT with a brush, you DRAW with a pen!!
