John, have you formulated a set of "rules" for drawing Reed, over the years? Apart from "no Plastic Man stuff." For instance, in a scene like this one, are you working out exactly where all of his parts are, even if the viewer can't necessarily trace the routes of his arms and legs?•• Normally I like to keep track of where Reed's arms and legs are going, if only to avoid putting the wrong hand (or worse, a foot!) on the end of an arm. In the case of this drawing, tho, I decided it would work better for the "storytelling" if it was not clear what was what. +++++++ I also wonder about Doom's mask. Do you allow yourself to "cheat" and alter its geometry a little to help convey the right emotion? Does the static mask force you to choose or avoid certain angles, depending on the scene? •• I allow a great deal of movement in Doom's mask.
