Andrew the Kirby New Gods one is the one I am looking forward to most of all (and that is saying something).  I am pleasantly surprised that Scott Dunbier was able to locate the art to the first few issues.  This should be a real treat!

The switch from Colletta to Royer inks will also be wild.  Boy oh boy I hope someday someone finds the pencils to those first few issues and IDW (or someone) prints them in the AE size.

It's a great time to be a comics fan.

•••

Ain't that the truth!

And a litmus test to be found in these volumes, too. I am, of course, thinking of idiots complaining because they're not in COLOR!

Or worse yet - they color them themselves (don't laugh).

It blows me away that I can go to my bookshelf and pull out full-size reproductions of Wally Wood's original art, or highlights from the MAD comic book, or Joe Kubert's Tarzan, John Byrne's Fantastic Four, Walt Simonson's Thor, Dave Stevens's Rocketeer...and that I'll have some Jack Kirby and Jim Steranko books soon, too.  Not to mention all of the other great reprints of the past 20 years.  The list of all-time great work that's not available in a really nice edition is getting shorter and shorter.

I was thinking. Most of the books IDW chooses for there Artist Editions
are older. But, with them doing HELLBOY, they've shown that they're
willing to do a newer book.

Well, with a lot, if not most books today, the artist does a pencilled
page and then the inker prints out a blueline scan and inks it. Would
IDW, if they chose to do a particular artist's newer work, use the
artist's pencilled pages or the inkers inked pages from scans?

Some of these Artist Edition's look fabulous and I'd love to have them but with extreme restraint I'm saving my pennies for something else...

Noticed a little warping issue with the Tor one.  Nothing drastic but still there.  It is a gorgeous, gorgeous book from Joe Kubert and IDW.
