Very cool. Is some elementary teacher getting all the letters of the alphabet commissioned? ;)

Nice piece, JB.  I am usually not a fan of characters smiling, but it certainly works here given the scene.  I also like the straight-line border.  It reminds me of an actual comic book page.

•••

Principle reason I do the ragged edges is that it's NOT a comic book page.

Is there a 'C' for Captain America and Bucky coming up? That would be a great companion piece!

So, I commissioned this piece along with the C for Cyborg and a few others for my brother who is organizing his comic collection in custom drawers. The idea is to then alphabetize the drawers using various commissions of heroes and villains with their corresponding letters.

I just gotta say though, that while the Cyborg piece just blew me away, this one takes me back to being a kid, reading about a Batman and Robin who got along and were always off on some awesome adventure in Gotham. Who needs the nu52? I'll take fun superheroes any day of the week. Beautifully done!!!

Thanks Wilson. I've lurked for a while, just admiring the art. The excitement of seeing my two favorite heroes done by John along with my wanting to provide the rationale for the letters got me to post.

I've been searching for two days trying to find the words to express my
awe for this piece. It's just Batman and Robin as they should be.
Excellent job JB!
Congrats Alex, you've got a masterpiece here.

I think the key word for this one is "fun" - Batman and Robin are not mired in being dark knights, and the the way the "B" is incorporated is a real kick.

Very cool, JB!!
