The first Marvel Graphic novel I read was SUPER BOXERS. Great story, I love the plot, script and artwork. IMO, it's Ron Wilson's best work. But I have questions...
How did you become involved with the project?
Have you ever had a chance to draw the characters for a commission? I'd love to see your take on them.

Ron and I had been working together on 2-in-1/THE THING. He'd had the idea for SUPERBOXERS in his mind for quite some time (Ron is Golden Gloves), and he asked me to help him develop it I agree it was his best work up to that point. The pencils were absolutely gorgeous. I have not drawn the characters.

I've often wondered if the idea for the Timmverse JLU Meta Brawl storyline and Marvel's UWFC wrestling came out of the Super Boxer idea. I think Ron had a hand in the latter.

Thanks for the response JB. It was a great story you two put together. So different from anything I'd read in a comic to that point.

I wonder if Ron had a big hand in creating the Elder of the Universe, The Champion?

I have a copy signed by Ron, the book is a real treat.
I thought Ron was a really solid penciller too.

I never read Super Boxers. I alwayswanted to read it, but I have not been able to find a copy of the GN. Speaking of Ron Wilson, whatever happened to him?
