Trouble is,even here in the U.K. criminals can get hold of guns,we`ve had shoot outs by drug gangs in Wolverhampton city centre,in broad daylight, area full of shoppers. Then there`s the owners of licensed guns, who suddenly have a mental breakdown and go on a rampage.
What amazed me,was a feature in a newspaper this week about U.S. girls of a similar age to the Uzi girl, with their own pink guns, how sad that they are a demographic aimed at by gun manufacturers.

Yep. I have seen a Lady's Smith .38 that had pink grips and a kids
sized bolt action .22 rifle with an entire pink stock. The Lady's Smith is
designed for a grown woman to carry in her purse and is a little lighter.
I don't know too many women who actually get or keep the pink grips.
The pink .22 rifle bothers me in that the color makes it look like a toy.
The .22 is a very small round but is just as dangerous as a .38 or .45.
It's got enough power to enter a person or animal, but generally, not
enough to exit. So, it has a tendency to play pinball with the insides.

Also let me say this. The majority of law biding gun owners are very
responsible with there firearms. I have several that stay locked away.
One stays in my bedroom nightstand, unloaded, but with a magazine
nearby. By the time I was my son's age, I was already shooting. My
son, hasn't yet hit what I think is the maturity level to handle one. He's
watched me shoot before and just hearing the actual sound was
enough for him to realize that this wasn't a toy to play with. I continue
to educate him, but I won't let him touch one until I know he's ready.
That may be in a year or NEVER. It depends on the individual.
