I've been thinking about this for a couple of days, and I think the one that's my current favorite is the run of the Thing with Ben on the Beyonder's world.  Really great structure to hang any genre of story on, AND there was a great character arc for Ben AND AND there was a really cool mystery that built over the run.

Doesn't hurt at all that Ron Wilson was firing on all cylinders on that run.

Blood of the Demon.  What a fun, and graceful nod to Jack Kirby... and then came 1 year later.  Sigh.

Great thread!

I have to pick two.

1.  FF 249-250 with Gladiator (Read this story tons of times and my friend and I wondered for days if JB would ever do Superman and how great it would be.)

2.  Man of Steel (My dream comes true and it was better than I imagined).

Honorable mention goes to Doomsday.1 (I had no interest in this series because of the premise but was completely blown away.)

Fantastic Four Annual #17. "Legacy". The story has stuck with me since
I first read it some 30+ years ago.

Synopsis: Way back in Fantastic Four #2, the FF left a pack of Skrulls
transformed into cows grazing on a field. The Skrulls are long gone, but
the field, and the town nearby, remain, the site of a bizarre series of
goings on for which the FF must find a reason.

My all-time favorite JB story has to be DAYS OF FUTURE PAST just because of its significance. Lots of layers in that story and told in TWO ISSUES.

My second choice is NAMOR # 15-25 which featured the return of Iron Fist.
Well-crafted story and brought back one of my favorite heroes!

'Course, I'm sure I'll change my mind if this comes up again!!

-C!

I always liked JBs all-too-brief run of the HULK. That was the best of the best.

I have re-read SHE-HULK and GENERATIONS over and over again, but I do have a special place in my heart for FANTASTIC FOUR ANNUAL #17 ("Legacy"). That's one of my all-time favorite comics by anyone--a real classic. A real TWILIGHT ZONE type of story expertly done starring some of my favorite characters and focusing on a supporting character (Sharon) who I never really cared about until this story.
