I realize my last post didn't really answer the question. I could have just said the last sentence. Now, upon reflection, I will definitively state Fantastic Four 242-244.

Man of Steel #1 - #6.
A masterful update, making a classic new again.

Barman/Captain America...the scene with Cap taking down the Nazi super tank is just incredible and that alone makes it worth the price of admission! Although the rest of the book is pretty damn incredible too!!

After much deliberation, I've landed on MAN OF STEEL #1-6. It's closing in on 30 years (!!) since I first read those issues, and I still get a kick out of reading them.

What a lot of different choices. Other than Jack Kirby I doubt one artist has as many different choices for different people. It's a testament to how hard JB works to present the characters in their "correct" voices but using his beautiful art style. My heart wants so many but at the top is FF 247-48. Doom as he should always be.

Though I think MAN OF STEEL #2 is just about the perfect single issue, my favorite storyline is "Who is Donna Troy?" from the 2nd and 3rd year of WONDER WOMAN.

the original JBNM run in its entirety.

IMO, this is JB's best work, taken as a whole, which is an entirely different question as to what is my favorite (answered above). ;^)

If it's allowed, I'd go with the original JBNM run in its entirety ======= It would be hard to say that it wasn't a single story. So, I'd say it's allowed.

If I had to pick a single issue, I'd go with BATMAN & CAPTAIN AMERICA.
