Btw is the dedication on the original?•• Yup, but I normally withhold such things when I post the pieces, in case the customer doesn't wish to be identified.

By the way, for those interested in such details, this is one of the most "tool intensive" pieces I have produced recently. Except for the head, the hands and the Kirby Krackle, virtually everything you see was drawn using either elliptical templates or a french curve.

That is fantastic!I made the mistake least year of requesting a convention sketch of Mr Fantastic from an artist that had worked on the book. He drew him just standing there, arms at his waist, doing nothing all that fantastic. Oh well. I guess I should have been more specific... CUZ THIS IS HOW YOU DRAW HIM!!!!!!!

I've commented before on how the Reed Richards you've drawn for the past several years in commissions has felt a little closer to the bulkier, "man-of-action" guy that Kirby drew. The Reed Richards of your classic run seemed a little more svelt and brainy.
I love this one—seems like both at the same once, somehow. Looks like "your" Reed in your more modern style, I guess.

Looks like "your" Reed in your more modern style, I guess. •• When I started writing and drawing FANTASTIC FOUR a line of Stan's ;urked in the back of my mind. In the second FF ANNUAL (I think) a caption refers to Reed as a "lean and mocking figure." I wanted to restore that "lean" look, as he had, indeed, beefed up considerably over the years. Mostly under Kirby's pencil, and then others continued in that vein. It was somewhat ironic, really, that the FF started out to deliberately challenge the preconceptions about superheroes -- "regular" builds, no costumes, a monster as a hero, etc -- but as the book gained in popularity (and sales) it became, at least at some levels, more conventional.
