This is when it's best to think of foreshortened limbs as layers of forms. There's the oblong "balloon" of the thigh, then the ball of the knee, then the curved cylinder (sort of banana shaped) of the calf.

The person who commissioned this piece asked me to post the following on his behalf:

"I'm not a member of the site and so I cannot post.  Do you mind posting a note that the "commissioner" has been in touch with you and is very happy/satisfied with the piece ---- that this particular commissioner did/does trust JB and that he considers the request elements to be starting points from JB can build/deviate at his discretion.

I'd really like JB to know that I very much like the piece as it is."

When I finally order a John Byrne commission, that's going to be my
attitude as well. "These are the characters I'd like… If possible, have
them using their powers and smiling… Use your judgment… Have fun!"

JB - Another decision I liked was having Cap smiling.  The scene would have a different feel if only Puck were smiling.  Is it a general rule of yours to have both heroes smiling?

Much like Wallace, in the unlikely event that I ever had the discretionary funds to commission a piece from JB, (without giving away too much) it would be a certain group of heroes versus a certain group of villains; and my only note to JB would be "it should be obvious that the good guys are winning, and having fun doing so".
I love smiling superheroes.

I get sort of a Neal Adams vibe from this one. Not a bad thing!

Nice.  I always like the visual of Puck in motion.  Such a great character.

Another great commission. Love the choke hold on Cap and the shield deflecting blast! Congrats owner and JB.
