Regardless of any other factors, there is absolutely no way the Republicans would ever nominate a candidate who does not support significantly lowering taxes on the rich. That is the single most important plank in their platform. •• Time to abolish income tax altogether, and bring in a national sales tax. Pay-as-you-go. The rich spend more, so they pay more. The poor spend less, so they pay less. Plus all the loopholes are closed. Then sit back and wait for someone to stand up in Congress and say we need "revenue enhancement" in the form of an income tax of no more than 3%. Well, no more than 5%, anyway. Okay, 10%, but no more. Or maybe 15%. . . . .

Time to abolish income tax altogether, and bring in a national sales tax. Pay-as-you-go. The rich spend more, so they pay more. The poor spend less, so they pay less. Plus all the loopholes are closed. We on the right have been advocating this for generations. Sadly, it will never happen so long as the left holds power; they will never willing divest themselves of the power to legislate behavior through manipulation of the tax code- it's almost like Bilbo's precious ring; they can't help but slip it on the finger again and again. But that said, there are some among us who, despite near universal opposition from the left, continue to work toward this goal, so who knows maybe someday we will manage to get it done.
Then sit back and wait for someone to stand up in Congress and say we need "revenue enhancement" in the form of an income tax of no more than 3%. Well, no more than 5%, anyway. Okay, 10%, but no more. Or maybe 15%. . . . .
Which is why any move toward a federal fair tax must be done in the form of a Constitutional amendment which, in part, repeals the 16th amendment. Until then, I'll be happy to flatten the brackets, reduce rates, and eliminate exemptions. This could be done through standard legislation.

His stance on the absolute hooey that links vaccines to autism is scary enough, but his recent BS on what he'd do about guns in America is downright frightening. The words below are from the article linked at the end of this post and are not, in any way, my own:
Trump proposed tougher enforcement of laws that are already on the books, rather than adding new gun control laws. Trump also proposed strengthening and expanding laws allowing law-abiding gun owners to defend themselves from criminals using their own guns, without fear of repercussion from the government. Noting that many of the recent high-profile shooters had clear mental problems that should have been addressed, Trump proposed fixing our nation’s broken mental health system by increasing treatment opportunities for the non-violent mentally ill, but removing from the streets those people who pose a danger to themselves and others. Trump would do away with pointless and ineffective gun and magazine bans and suggested fixing the current background check system already in place, rather than expanding a broken system. Furthermore, Trump proposed a national right to carry, a national concealed carry reciprocity law that would compel states to recognize the concealed carry permits of any other state, exactly as drivers licenses from anywhere are accepted by all states today. Finally, Trump would lift the prohibition on military members carrying weapons on military bases and in recruiting centers, allowing trained military members to carry weapons to protect themselves from attacks by terrorists, criminals and the mentally unstable, as we have seen recently.

We should all get cowboy hats and lassos to go along with the wild west theme he is dreaming of.
