"I wonder what it actually costs to produce?"
Still wondering???
If Brandon found it at 50-60 $ means that they still make profit of it no matter
what....
So  about  20-25 $ ??Not to say 15$.......(the more they print the cheaper it costs!)

I was a little surprised that JB's Amazing Spider-Man 189, 190, and 206 aren't in this.  Any thoughts on why those wouldn't be in there?

As someone already pointed out, the two part Daredevil/Ghost Rider team up was not included either. Daredevil #138 and Ghost Rider #20. With the other issues included in this volume it is a strange omission.

Daredevil #138 I think was my very first John Byrne comic unless Iron Fist #5 pre-dated that issue. The villain in the Daredevil book called "The Smasher" I thought had the coolest costume this seven year old at the time had ever seen.

I can't imagine why the Daredevil/Ghost Rider issues would not be included. Perhaps with the Spider-Man issues, they may have been left out to go in a future Spider-Man by John Byrne Omnibus. Besides those issues listed by Dave, it could also include Spider-Man Chapter One, Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 2, #s 1-18, plus the "Gathering of Five" and "Final Chapter" storylines that immediately preceded ASM Vol. 2, Spectacular Spider-Man 58, and some assorted covers.

...

Me too Eric (though I was 11 or so). I recently reacquired that and Ghost Rider #20, that was pure nostalgic fun.
JB, if you can harken back to that time, was that your design for the Smasher or were you given direction ?

When the writing on the spine of the book is horizontal, rather than vertical, you know you've got a thick book!
