Because of their disagreements with Fox, Marvel is no longer publishing Fantastic Four comics. And while they are still putting out X-Men stories, their preference seems to be doing those stories with cyphers like the Inhumans or Wolverine's female clone ("X-23") instead. Nothing to stop the independent publishers from taking the same approach.

Marvel ought to have more pride in their founding characters, whoever owns the rights. They should do the FF proud, instead of hustling Ben off to the Guardians and Johnny off to the Inhumans (where he's now with... MEDUSA?). Reed and Sue--nowhere to be found. Peter Parker taking over the Baxter Building.

Might be time to exit the House of Ideas.

It doesn't bother me that JB wouldn't return to FF -- artists move on, but
what really hurts is the reality that JB couldn't do FF the way we'd all
love to see it at what remains of Marvel.

What sucks is that the Marvel that existed as we knew it when JB last
worked there, no longer exists. Guess it's true - there's no going
home again,

Like I have said many times, I didn't leave Marvel, Marvel left me!

That time came quite a while ago.

Somewhere in the universe, there is a John Byrne Fantastic Four vs. Super Skrull story waiting to come out.

Hiding in Eternity's sleeve no doubt.

I don't suppose we could get some Byrne standalone graphic novels at either Marvel or DC, could we?

I'm still waiting for JB to work with Paul Kupperberg at Archie!

Unfortunately, Archie seems to be following DC and Marvel's lead these
days.
