The reaction from Nightcrawler and Storm when they witness Wolverine killing a sentry. Their reaction, to me said everything that I needed to know about the viciousness and brutality that Wolverine is capable of. And, we did not see one drop of blood. That's says a lot. I cant recall the issue number, though.

All Chris.

SIDEBAR: One of the things I noticed after I left the book was that Chris immediately did all the scenes I'd not wanted to do, pretty much in order. I realized I'd had an early glimpse of that, as the Circus story was something Dave Cockrum had not wanted to do!

I couldn't tell you exactly why, but I find a lot of the scenes I'm considering are from the AWC run - particularly Wanda bringing down a seaside cliff on Wonder Man.

Can't say I am surprised that, as a writer, he would try push his rejected ideas with every change of artist as he sticked to the X-Men for so long.
But as I quit reading the X-Men very shortly after the end of your run, I didn't get to be disappointed very long...

Still, I loved the change of scenery and psyche of the X-Men in that issue, and what made the story go over the top was the big reveal of Magneto pulling the strings. This last page with a splash of magneto also ranks very high in my childhood's memories of comics !

"Easy there, Captain America. I've got you now."
"The Batman!"

Of course, that book is filled with favorite scenes... the fight between Bruce and Steve, the very last panel, so much more.

Then again... any other time, I might pick any of hundreds of other favorite scenes. The Dr. Doom reveal from FF 236... "I AM SATHANAS!"... X:THY with Warren carrying his mother skyward... heck, there are probably more favorites than I can remember.

Mr. Byrne, I think you get it.

This scene might be my second favorite. Definitely in my JB Top Five.

Too beautiful to not share the visual...

First thing that comes to mind is the death of Guardian.
In the days before spoilers, that was quite the mind blowing surprise!
I didn't see it coming.

I watched a show about Bigfoot when I was a kid, and it scared the bejeebus out of me, so the Wendigo story really freaked me out.
That whole cannibalism thing, warped my fragile little mind lol.
