My mom died on January 2, 2015. My dad died on May 21, 2016.  Both, not expected, but a blessing because of the diseases they both were suffering from.    Mom:  motor neuron, Dad Alzheimer's.  I miss them both every day, but I "feel" them around me all the time, and that's comforting. Take that for what it is.  It's like they have gone away on a grand cruise but they'll be back....but they won't.

So, I've come across some $$ that I was not expecting.  Going to pay off some bills, loans, and invest.  Then there is some extra $$ to do with as I please.  Hhhhhmmmm.  What to do?

The money isn't really stupid, and it isn't millions, but its a nice cush.

My questions:  what would you do with some extra cash that you could spend any way you want?  Me?  Going to find some long wanted comics and READ them.  Then....read them again!

I had a recent windfall and spent some of it on:

A new, made-to-measure drysuit

A diving trip to the Maldives

Some Modesty Blaise originals (which I've posted in the new artwork thread)

And I'm currently waiting on delivery of a die-cast model of Zero X, the spaceship from the film Thunderbirds Are Go!

I'm also planning on some work-related training later this year.

I've got emails written for commissions. It really is the type of thing that keeps on giving every time you look at it.

Add my voice to those suggesting a John Byrne commission.

Probably a "classic" comic page. Something I'm not normally able to afford, a page worth $2,000 or 3,000 that would look good in my home.

Depends on the amount of money....

1 (or all) of the 3 JB commissions I have in mind.

Pay for mine and Heidi's wedding, which we're planning but can't afford. (At least not the way she wants it)

Pay for a trip (for me and Heidi) to either England, Scotland or Japan.

IF it was a relatively sizable amount, I'd pay off the car, pay down some credit cards, and then put the rest in savings.
