Hitler believe in merging the power of the government with that of a large industrial military complex and big business.

Doesn't sound too socialist to me, but it does sound very much like today's Republican party.

It's always a sign of desperation when conservatives try portraying guys like Hitler and Stalin as "liberals."

It's also a sign that a thread has run its course when Hitler is invoked in almost any context.

Move on.

Trump doesn't need to be likened to any mustache-man; he has made it quite clear the HE is his own demagogue. Only HE can make things right. HE has a (somewhat vague and terrifying) vision.

I'm surprised that anyone gives Trump’s comments any weight; he's consistently proven himself to be a habitual, uniformed liar. HRC may have flaws, but at least she appears to take political responsibility seriously. I suspect people voting for Trump are just voting "for that funny man from the TV."

I suspect that Trump hasn't thought this through; if he becomes president, he personally:
  • cannot tweet to or otherwise be personally involved in social media for four years
  • cannot be involved in ANY other ventures than his job
  • cannot use private email for four years
  • will not be able to use his own phone for four years
  • will not be able to manage any of his business interests in any way for four years
  • will not be alone for four years
  • will have a team dictating is daily commitments
For a man who likes to micromanage everything HIS way ALL the time, presidency would be a waking nightmare.

Monte, the idea that Trump personally would be miserable on a day-to-day basis is the best thing to come out of this for me so far... Thank you.

There's a whole lot of denial in the GOP right now.

Given the reports from Kasich's people about how Trump offered Kasich the opportunity to be "the most powerful Vice President ever", Trump apparently thinks he can treat the Presidency like he does his corporation... ie, be a public figurehead while farming out the actual work to someone else.  You're right that he would find himself very unhappy with the reality of the job, if he did win.  Or perhaps he just wants to say he won, and he plans to step down and give the job to Pence afterwards.

Now the focus turns to Philadelphia.

I'm sure it'll be a drama free week.

It's already started, Kevin. The head of the party's stepped down due to leaked e-mails showing the Democratic Party was pushing for Hillary and trying to push Bernie out.

I noticed.  I'm shocked (shocked I tell you!) that a political party would do such a thing.  I'm sure it's never happened in the past with anyone running for office.

Didn't the primary do that?

e-mails leaked by Russia, don't forget!

On the other hand, Hillary's VP pick is generating lots of positive reactions.
