The 1950's Batmobile
The Supermoblie
I had the Corgi Supermoblie as a kid. I
thought it was a pretty cool design.

Eric and Ariel- A quick correction: George Perez designed Luthor's new armor in that 45th Anniversary issue of Action Comics (#544) variations of which have been seen since

Ed Hannigan designed the new Brainiac. Hannigan was also the cover sketch artist at Marvel for a time and designed the covers of X-Men #141 and Fantastic Four #244, among many others. The design has come back a couple of times as robot footsoldiers in Brainiac's army, and a version of it appears briefly in JB's Generations series.

As for why it vanished so quickly, it debuted in 1982 and was likely swept away alongside many other elements of the Superman of that time to make way for Man of Steel. The spaceship design at least returned in 1992's "Panic In the Sky" storyline.

My choices for favorite comicbook vehicles are:

The classic FF "flying bathtub"
The Supermobile
The Batmobile, circa 1950
Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet
"Archie," Nite Owl's vehicle from Watchmen
The Arrowcar (specifically for one late 70's appearance it made in World's Finest #253. Also, it was Mego toy which I desperately wanted at a certain age...)

Which brings up a comics-related vehicle that only appears in comic ads, never in an actual story, but, oh my God, did I want one as a kid...
The Mangler! (from Mego's Comic Action Heroes line. "The maniacal Mangler actually eats your favorite superhero and spits them out-- FLAT!"
Years later, I bought a Fisher-Price steamroller because it was kinda like a Mangler...

FF's flying bathtub
The Quinjet
Hawkeye's/Black Knight's sky-cycle/atomic steed
Does the second Box armor count?

Kang's Chrono-Sphere
Green Goblin's Glider
The Fantastic Four's  Fantasticar ("flying bathtub")
Thor's Chariot (with Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder)
SHIELD's Helicarrier
The Avengers' Quinjets
SHIELD's Flying Cars

And yes, I loved the Spider-Mobile as a kid, but it makes zero sense when you think about it!

Brian Hague - dammit, I was afraid I'd get that backwards. But I relied on my crummy memory for it.

I still didn't like it; the head ship was kinda spooky, and that was okay, but Brainiac looked far too much like a Terminator to make me like it.

Also, when I read that story, my first thought was, "Well, now Brainiac is just a robot. Superman can destroy it and we can put rest to this in two issues."

About other vehicles/ships/starships: Thanos' Sanctuary II, Guardians of the Galaxy' Drydock (seen in the Korvac Saga) or Moon Knight's Mooncopter!

I still love Elliot R. Brown's diagrams from the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe!

The Fourth World vehicles: Whiz Wagon, Super-Cycle, Mountain of Judgement, the Astro-Harness (not a vehicle per se) and the Mobius Chair

Fantasticar

All the Batmobiles

Fantasticar - the flying bathtub.
The Mobius Chair
Orion's Astro-Harness
The All-Star Squadron's plane

Looking at my list, Kirby designed vehicles for the win.
