I do have the Simmons solo album. From when it came out in '78. So, the cover's got some wear.

I've got the picture disc reissue from a few years back. He could sign that, I suppose.

I have plenty of potential items for Gene. I'm mostly trying to figure out something for Stan. Figured that "two-fer" might be a way to go.

I have Love Gun and Destroyer album covers signed by Ken Kelly. That might be an idea. Thanks for the input!

Stan is more difficult as the possibilities are endless!

And yet...I don't really have a lot of "Stan Lee" items, again, in terms of actual books he's written. I have a ton of Marvel Comics, but largely from the 70's and 80's.

I guess he could sign pretty much anything Marvel related...but I'd like it to be something, y'know...special.

I was considering purchasing some classic books, but that can get pricey. And what do you go with? And old FF? Spider-Man? The Hulk is my fav, so some Tales to Astonish?

I suggest you do a Two in One and get "STAN’S SOAPBOX: THE COLLECTION" from the Hero Initiative.

Classic Stan, autographable, affordable, and for a good cause. I like it!

Anyone else headed to Wizard World Philly?

I'll be in town tomorrow to check out the Gene Simmons Band show at the Trocadero. Then at the Convention all day Saturday.

Will probably try to give the wife a break and do something "normal" Saturday night. Maybe take her out to a comedy club or something.

When Stan was in Calgary in April, I had a similar dilemma. I had FF, Avengers, Thor, Spider-Man early (or first) issues, but what to choose? I had him sign Origins of Marvel Comics.

I met Stan at a comic con in New Orleans five years ago. I would have probably had him sign the Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Volume 1 except for the inconvenience carrying around that heavy book all day would have caused. I ended up having him sign a picture of himself, since pictures were readily available from several vendors at the con.

Carrying around omnibus editions didn't stop me, lol. I had Stan sign my Amazing Spider-Man by Stan Lee & Steve Ditko omnibus and another year, I had Claremont sign both my Uncanny X-Men vol. 1 omnibus and the Wolverine one. Of course, I should note that we drive down to the convention centre, so I get to stash my heavy stuff when needed.

Edited to add... Len Wein was there the same year as Claremont so I got him to sign both of those volumes as well.

I ordered a copy of The Soapbox Collection. So that's a contender for Stan Lee to sign.

I had Gene Simmons sign the cover of the Marvel Super Special. Just seemed like the right thing for a musician at a comic book convention to autograph....

Picture of a 230 pound 7-year old...
