It would be really nice if that series was collected into a TPB. I don't know if that's even conceivable under the current DC powers-that-be.

Why do you say that?  They're finally reprinting good stuff!  And they're not avoiding JB's work, if WONDER WOMAN is any example.

Eric -- true. I forgot about that. Then again, there was a Wonder Woman movie this year, so, obvious tie-in or cash-in or whatever the appropriate phrase is.

Yeah, I've literally been waiting decades for DC to do some price (and color)-friendly format reprints of its pre-CRISIS material, so I just wanted to give them credit for that.  Whatever's going on behind the scenes, between the new reprint philosophy, REBIRTH, and getting Neal Adams to do new material (BATMAN, SUPERMAN, and now DEADMAN!), it seems at least they're trying to get their house in order.

I'm open to buying some DC stuff right now; it's Marvel that I can't even look at.

I've said it before on here, but the fact Generations 3 has not been collected is really puzzling considered the first two mini-series have collections. At the very least DC could just collect all three series in one big harcover/softcover omnibus, since I'd imagine the Generations and Generations 2 collections are OOP.

Given what a mess The New 52 was, I have to give DC writers and editors for doing their very best to turn lemons into lemonade. For most of their titles, things are generally back to what they were before 2011 -- lots of past stories are now canonical again, albeit often with some tweaking, but nobody seems to be doing "archeology" all that much. And the characterizations are certainly back to what they used to be -- Superman reads like Superman, Green Arrow reads like Green Arrow, etc.

Yes, some changes have been pretty serious changes -- Superman now has a ten-year old son, Wonder Woman's origin story has been rewritten yet again (though it maintains the spirit of the George Perez years), Jericho (alive again!) was never in the Teen Titans...but I don't read any of it and think "this is wrong, this violates the essence of the characters," which is far from what I thought after 2011 when it seemed that many of my old DC friends had been replaced by strangers bearing their names.

Talking about Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez in the other thread led me to find all sorts of amazing work by him that I'd never seen before (and some I had--but not in pencil)!  Here's some of it--
Doc Savage and the Spirit!

They're all terrific, but the Spirit is my favorite.  He's even got Eisner-style buildings in the background.
