I agree the series improved as it went, but I think it was really strong out of the gate. I am so glad this is being released in hardcover!

Thanks JB - must have glossed over your post. So glad it is flat paper.
Wonder Woman up there in my top five runs of yours. The supporting cast was fantastic, especially your portrayal of Artemis.

I'll be adding this to my list. Tho I've seen it said for Vol. 1 to have # 101-114 with no annual. I don't recall but was this amount done for story break? A Vol. 2 and/or Vol. 3 would seem a bit lopsided either way. Just a question that was in my head.

There are three runs of WONDER WOMAN that I rate. JB's, Perez and Jimenez. They all seemed to understand who she was and how strong she really is

So glad to hear this is in hardcover!!!•• It's such a nostalgic rush to see my work reprinted in hardcover. It was in hardcover format that I first encountered American superhero comics (albeit in black and white), and I am taken back to those volumes when I see these. (I've mentioned before that when I first drew the 1940s/50s version of Batman in GENERATIONS, with the short ears and a smile on his face, I smiled myself. "Hey! I know you!")

Not sure where it was in the run (it's been a while!) but I still think about that kid reconstructed from videotapes.•• That's in this first volume -- and you have no idea how much flak I caught from some corners of fandom for that story! The idea that living avatars could be scientifically conjured out of videotape recordings was "ridiculous" I was informed. Totally "unrealistic"!! (In fact, I had gotten the idea from a short article that suggested the digital nature of videotape might actually be making "3D" recordings, if we could only figure out how to coax them into view!)

I'm looking forward to this. There are a few gaps in my reading history, and JB's Wonder Woman is one of them.

*******
Never mind the fact that a computer was powerful enough to simulate a human consciousness- the idea that you could extrapolate a 3D shape from a bunch of footage is the "unrealistic" part.
Humans! Sheesh.
