Really loved JB's run. One of my favorite takes on the character.

Mine arrived yesterday.  Tearing into it this weekend.  I peeked at the first few pages.  Couldn't help myself.

Just curious, how many of you are reading these WONDER WOMAN by John Byrne stories for the FIRST time?

Thought this thread was going to be about Gods and Goddesses.  That they were re-releasing it perhaps.

JB, did that novel get written after you feel you "got" WW?  I don't remember if it came out before, during or after the comic run.

It came out during the run -- tho a year after it was supposed to. In house incompetence led to the delay -- and that after they'd insisted I write it "in continuity", meaning set between two issue from when it was supposed to come out. Rendered utterly meaningly by the delay.

You guys are in for quite a ride! This was a hard sell for me as I did not care one bit about the character when the series started to the point where I was accumulating issues without reading them!

When I finally got around to it, I read them in rapid succession and was really sold on the character. This is a fun series to "binge" on, so I think this book will be an excellent read for first timers.

And I think it would be a good book to pass on to fans who have been sold on the character by the new movie. If they liked the movie, this series will knock their socks off.

Joe and Jeremy,

What a treat - the reason I asked was because I wanted to know whom to envy the thrill of reading John Byrne's WONDER WOMAN for the very first time!

I still remember the very afternoon I walked into the comic shop and picked up WONDER WOMAN #101.  I was about to pick up a comic starring my favorite character, written and drawn by one of my favorite comic creators!

I hope you will share with us your first impressions - and then your thoughts on the various story arcs found in this hardcover volume, so we can discuss.  It will be great to revisit these classic WONDER WOMAN tales.

Marc
