Status quo-wise, it wouldn't be too difficult to get the characters where you want them to be (there may be a few we'd have to live without, but so it goes) and then you just take it from there and don't speak of what you want to ignore. ••• So simple, yet so impossible with today's fans and fan/creators. One of my first rules, when given the Keys to the Kingdom, would be that no story can reference any other story that took place more than six months ago. (The exception being annual recaps of origins.)

Bendis is a master of padding, and that's about it. He can take something that could easily be done in 3 to 4 issues or less, and drag it out to 6 or more.

Is he the one who did a JLA issue (around 2006) which featured Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman standing around talking about membership to the new JLA?
I remember buying that at the time - and thinking to myself, 'Decades ago, the roster would have been chosen halfway through the issue - and the second half would have seen the JLA battling and defeating a foe.'

Bendis has never written for DC, as far as I know. He's certainly never written the JLA.

Robbie, he is good at panel upon panel of two people talking, must be a nightmare for the artist, and it ain't much fun for the reader!

Well, that's why I asked. ;-) I've done a Google, anyway. It's Brad Meltzer's JLA I was thinking of.

I've just seen that the only Marvel title I pick up, The Silver Surfer, has been cancelled with sales of around 15,000 copies an issue. That figure is astonishing.

Identity Crisis! Also featuring Dr. Light raping Sue Dibny. A very serious and grown up comic.

Hey, does anybody here remember when, a few years back, when certain members of Marvel editorial would troll here and then blast us, in other online outlets, for not knowing what the hell we were talking about?

"Issue?" IIRC, it was closer to 4, with a call back to their discussions in #7. (To be fair, there was other stuff going on with other characters, but it was still pretty silly.)
