One of the nice things about Loki is that DC could just use him without any worries about licensing.
I think Loki would have the JLA on their heels, tricked and confused, until Batman revealed that he had figured out what Loki was up to and had only been playing along, leading Loki into a trap through his overconfidence.

I almost went with that, then realized it would be like fighting a different version of Amazo. ************************************************************ ********************* That's how they defeat him, by siccing Amazo on him. They both light up like a Fembot struck by Austin Power's mojo.

Brilliant idea. In fact I think that would make a wonderful What-If story. in fact (again) I think that type of idea would make a great What If series. What if Marvel/DC heroes were put in major stories/battles from the rival company. Ok no more thread drift....sorry.

Of course, Kang vs. the JLA is straight-up just the Lord of Time fighting the team in a muddier looking costume.

***** Avengers vs. the 'Apellax Meteorite Monsters' in a remake of JLA # 200, or vs. Starro in a reboot of #189-190, for 'a bunch of mind-controlled heroes vs. a bunch of non-mind-controlled ones'.

The U-FOES
It's sort of a mini version of the FF taking on our stalwart heroes, but I don't think the bad guys would last very long against the JLA lineup. Unless they got really lucky.
I was going to go with The Juggernaut but I had used him in a previous thread about an opponent for The Champions.

The U-FOES could be a better match-up than you'd expect. X-ray could emit Kryptonite radiation, Vapour could become a flammable gas and trigger J'onn J'onz's weakness...

Why wouldn't they be? ;-)

I guess I was conscious that it was a hardly a classic line-up (or the JLA name in entirety) but, in truth, I liked the Canadian setting and will always opt for Omega Flight as my villain team of choice!

Doc Doom was my first thought, but to offer something different: the Impossible Man vs. the Giffen JLA. I can see him really irking the hell out of Guy Gardner.
