Peter, maybe I was not clear in what I said. I never said do not regulate or do nothing. I said do not place blame on anyone but a killer for killing, that is the easy talking point the hard part is putting out attainable solutions. I did say change what laws you can pass now and work on the ones you want after.

My other point was that with this shooting is going to be a harder sell for gun control, as a factor, to have prevented it. I do not see a time where shotguns will be taken away and handguns are too accepted right now. Also there were "explosives" involved. I am sure It will be used as anti-gun control talking points. I do not agree but it may be effective.

The NRA have positioned themselves squarely behind the notion that being unable to completely eradicted the problem means we shouldn't try to fix any part of it.

They get to buy more and more guns (even unlicensed!), any we get to watch more and more Americans die.

Look at this:

Come on, is that really the answer?!!

I give up.

Fewer doors in a school could create a fire hazard. And leave kids with fewer options to escape when a shooter is inside.

I am absolutely shocked that this guy thinks that is the answer. They will literally take away doors and erect walls rather than even *consider* gun control.

Sickening.

Along with the too many doors thing from Texas Republicans, I heard the usual not enough guns around in the hands of 'good guys' stuff. What you didn't hear this time was the blame of these things happen in the liberal states with the gun free zones actually inviting the 'evil' person line.

So if you believe that guns don't kill people and hence it makes no sense to try
to control guns, then surely doors don't kill people and it makes no sense to
control them?

The Nation that once prized above all Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness has surrendered all three to money and guns.

I am so angry about this. I could scream in the face of that guy (I don't know his name, they're all interchangeable to me), advocating fewer doors. I would shout, "Are your precious gun rights so important that you'd risk a fire hazard just to protect your Second Amendment?!"

The sad thing is when I see kids interviewed and they offer a variation on, "We expect this now, it's part of our reality." Well, fuck you, NRA and Republicans.

Is there a reason Gun Owners of America seems to be let off the hook? I never see the media criticise them. Do they not have the finances or lobbying power of NRA?

Is gun control the answer? Will these shootings stop with stricter gun control? Less death and injuries for sure but fewer incidents, maybe. There is no one answer. Instead of mocking ideas because they are not gun control, find and promote ideas while working on attainable gun control. It should not be a either or discussion.

I believe most of these mass shooters are looking to die but are too weak to take their own lives. They want to quit being invisible and have others feel their pain, despair, loneliness, anger and have police kill them. Something is broken in the US and is making these people. I said before Canada has the same access to the guns used in these mass shootings and all the cultural influences why not comparable incidences.

Canada has an entirely different history from the United States, and thus an entirely different national mindset. It's beyond apples and oranges. It's apples and hand grenades.
