I Love all the pure hatred for Donald Trump because obviously a haggard old mentally impaired drunk that cannot waddle more than a few steps without letting out a blood curdling scream and falling over on her slovenly body would be a much better leader for America.

Lucky you have no hatred in you!

Donairs (or more correctly 'Halifax Donairs') are primarily an East Coast thing.

22 years, and I never heard the eastern part of Canada called the "East Coast".

Yeah, it's the Maritimes, eh.  Atlantic Canada if you're from the Federal Government.

Get Trump some Ketchup chips and a handful of smarties and he will love Canada again.

Yup, it's been an identifier for as long as I can
remember. There's even an "east coast lifestyle"
clothing line!

We've always called it "The Maritimes" or Atlantic Canada if one is being "official". Never heard it referred to as the East Coast.

Here in Alberta, they also call it a few other things but that isn't for polite company, lol.

And, occasionally, "Down East".

It's often occurred to me that a major difference between Canadians and Americans -- one which perhaps shapes the National Personality more than we might think -- is that Americans orient themselves North/South, while Canadians orient themselves East/West.

I had to look this up. It’s just a doner kebab with sweet sauce? Whyyyy?
------------------------------------------------------
First thing to admit: I myself have never had a donair (though a veteran of many doners in London over the years).

Small technicality: donair uses ground beef, whereas a doner tends to be lamb (or chicken if you want to be odd). The donair sauce often comes as a dip with pizzas here!

Coincidentally, I took this photo at the weekend. Donair and East Coast all in one building's signage. I do agree that the Maritimes is a far more prevalent term.

The difference between a donair and a doner is small, much as the difference between a Caesars and a Bloody Mary. But it only takes a small difference to become a regional dish, it seems!

We just had a donair chain from Halifax open up in Edmonton and I can wait to try it. The sauces and the meat spices are much blander the farther west you go it seems

Anyway, compare the eastern seaboard of the US to that of Canada, and it's easy to ee why "east coast" would attach to one and not the other. The US is virtually one long curve. Canada looks like somebody dropped a jigsaw puzzle.
