I have lots of happy childhood
memories because of Stan Lee.
Thank you and R.I.P.

Would have loved to see Stan make it to that proverbial "issue #100," but these 95 will do just fine.

His mark has been made.  The Man is dead...  LONG LIVE THE MAN!!!

I've seen so many accolades and tributes over the last few hours that are far more poetic and inspiring than I anything I could ever express. (Though it's lovely to see how many lives he touched.) But the one thing that I would add is that he had a voice, both spoken and in written form, that was truly, absolutely, forever unique. The warmth and enthusiasm that he had for both his characters and the fans of them, simply couldn't be matched. He had a way of making every reader and listener feel as if they were being invited into the best, most welcoming world of stories that could ever be imagined. He really did change the world.

So I hope he's now spreading the word upstairs, (and that word should be 'Excelsior!' of course.. ;) ) And telling them some Marvelous stories too.

Thank you Stan. You definitely were the 'Man!' in all our lives..

I was on the verge of tears all day at work, got home and broke down a little. Stan and his characters meant so much to me and my family growing up. My dad said Stan helped him raise his sons with his comics. This really affected me greatly today, more than I was anticipating.

Very sad news. I got to meet Stan a few times at San Diego Comic con and he told me I was ruining the value of my comics becuase some guy (Stan) wrote on the cover. My other Stan story is a fan walking up to him in the restroom and asking him to sign a book. He looked down then looked at the fan and said with a wink, I'm kinda busy right now, but come by the Marvel booth later and I'd be happy to! Rest in Peace and Excelsior!

I think that there has never been a better advocate of comics than Stan Lee. He might not have been the great american novelist, but he touched so many more people around the world. Much more than the sum of his creations,he was always positive and no matter how people tried to bait him.

Imagine this....

God, the saints, Jesus, Bowie, Prince, all the people you loved and lost...all sitting around listening to Stan tell a story....

Heaven.

Despite fighting back tears and being incredibly glum, today, I still met up with a friend to see BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM in the theater.

On the way there, it hit me: I woke up today ready to go and enjoy a DC product, and then this sad news comes along. And all I could think about today was Marvel and Stan.

Well, played, Stan. Well played. One last way to snatch my attention from the Distinguished Competition. You were truly the best at what you did.
