The DETECTIVE logo looks Seventies retro to me. Perhaps because the slice of art visible behind it makes me think of Neal Adams.

The Bat Symbols themselves look fine. The text of the logo for the Batman book is a little all over the place, but I don't dislike it. It brings to mind a higgledy-piggledy skyline, which seems apt for Gotham.

The smaller second "A" kind of gets lost.

I don't disagree with you, but the more I look at it, the more I see that urban skyline with a great Bat rising behind it and I have to stick with my original take: I don't dislike it.

I was gonna say the current BATMAN logo looks like a videogame logo in a derogatory way but I checked and the videogame logo actually looks way better. Yeah, not a fan.
I always preferred the Action and 'Tec logos that don't have "Superman" or "Batman" attached to them. Surely these are well-known enough publications and no extra "oomph" should be needed. And the covers themselves will usually feature Batman or Superman heavily anyway.

What about the chest symbols? Here is a nice infographic featuring all of them.

That one certainly is a classic, Charles. Very iconic.
I have a fondness for the one Todd Klein came up with that appears on the covers of the Batman Year One issues.

Charles wins for me. When I do a Batman book, that’s the one I....O, wait. Never mind.

I believe my favorite is the Batman: Year One logo, and I also prefer the chest symbol that appeared there.
I don't think other heroes have had this many different chest symbols:

"...I don't think other heroes have had this many different chest symbols..."
They might, if you include stylistic differences between various artists as if it was an actual change with the symbol, as that chart does. For instance, Batman's chest symbol from 1940 to 1963 is the same symbol, or was meant to be. Any variation shown in that chart was based on whether the symbol was drawn by Kane, Robinson, Sprang, Moldoff, or another artist. I'm pretty darn certain they all thought they were drawing the same symbol.
